"Waters Gone By"

(Copyright 1989 Sherri England Gough)

This song is dedicated to anyone who has trouble (don't we all) and has the faith to trust in God no matter what.

"You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by..." (Job 11:16)

"What strength do I have, that I should still hope?" (Job 6:11)

"Do I have any power to help myself?" (Job 6:13)

"Remember, O God, that my life is but a breath." (Job 7:7)

"He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea" (Job 9:8)

"Your hands shaped me and made me.   Will you now turn and destroy me?" (Job 10:8)

Verse 1:

What strength do I have that I should still hope in me

Do I have any power to help myself?

Remember, O God, that my life is but a breath

But you can turn that breath into eternity

Chorus:

I trust in you

You alone stretch out the heavens and tread on the waves of the sea

I want you to always be with me

Your hands shaped me and made me

Will you now turn and destroy my hope?

Oh, Lord, I know you won't

And my fear can't overcome me with you by my side

It'll be as waters gone by

Waters gone by

Waters gone by when I'm with you

Verse 2:

I know that you are the everlasting king

And I try so hard to be like you

You are perfect in all your ways and I can't do better than that

But I know that you'll forgive me

And you'll take me as I am

Repeat Chorus

Repeat Chorus

Waters gone by when I'm with you

My fear is waters gone by when I'm with you...
