Every day,
there are thousands of kids waiting for a home to call their
own. They are all over the world...in orphanages, in
foster care, and many right here in our communities. Some
of them may have had a rough start in life, and others have had
bad experiences but the effects are rather mild.
So many people who have
experienced infertility want to adopt infants, and that's a
wonderful option. But think about all the "older" kids out
there who need homes too. There are several advantages to
adopting a domestic sibling group or an older child...advantages
that many people may not have considered.
List of
advantages and disadvantages

| Sherri and family adopted a sibling group of
3 from the Tennessee domestic foster care system. Many of
the songs from Sherri's latest CD "For The Children" relate to
her adoption experience. At the time of adoption, the
children were ages 5, 7, & 8. Front row, Christopher (age
8, adopted), Nicholas (age 5, adopted), Brooklyn (age 7,
adopted), and Brendan (age 7, biological). Back row,
Turner (age 3, biological), Sherri, and Greg. Above is the
first picture of Christopher, Brooklyn and Nicholas that Sherri
and Greg saw of their future children before they met them. |

This was the first day Sherri and
Greg met their adopted children. It was at a McDonalds,
and it was on Brendan's 7th birthday (July 2004). |
