"Educational Videos"

Even before I knew about the Doman method, I purchased some educational videos called "Baby's First Impressions".   Brendan has been watching the "Letters" and "Numbers" volumes since he was about 2 months old.  Some people say T.V. is bad for infants, and it can be, but if you control the content and the frequency of what's on T.V. it can be beneficial.  ANY T.V. an infant sees will be "instantly absorbed", so instead of watching cartoons all day, watch educational videos at certain times during the day.  I KNOW that these videos taught Brendan his letters and numbers.  No question about it. 

These are the "Baby's First Impressions" videos that are Brendan's favorite!  There are several other titles, including shapes, colors, sounds, animals, seasons, & food fun.  You can find them at Learningsmith or you can order them from the Baby's First Impressions web site at www.small-fry.com.

Since I would like Brendan to be familiar with Bible scripture, we also have these videos called "Hide 'em in your Heart".  They are made by Christian singer Steve Green, and are Bible scripture verses put to catchy music, and acted out by children.  Some songs are fun, and others are very touching and are good examples for children to emulate.  Singing is a great way to memorize!  You can find these at your local Christian bookstore.

And, last but not least, I found these flashcard videos that are numbers (with dots and numerals) and objects (with reading words).  They are similar to the way I do the Doman flashcards.  The math has the quantity dots to 100, quantity addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and then introduces numerals.   The flashcard video shows objects and says the spoken word, then flashes the written word on the screen.  They are very "Doman-oriented" if you ask me, and kind of remind me of the Doman CD-ROMs.  If you're confused, just know that they're very educational!  You can find these at www.oatmealangels.com.

We have many, many more educational videos, but these are some that have proven to be very beneficial.  And besides, if I showed you ALL of our educational videos, you'd be here all night!
