"Educational Audio Tapes"
Since Brendan and I spend a lot of time in the van, I came up with the idea that riding can be educational, too! We have lots and lots of educational audio tapes, on subjects from multiplication to physics, from countries to phonics, from grammar to the constitution! While most babies have nursery rhyme tapes (there's nothing wrong with these), Brendan be-bopps to the song of the "Countries of Africa", or "Protons, Neutrons & Electrons", or "Eight times eight is sixty-four", or "Alabama and Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas...". All to his delight! You may ask, "Why on earth would you WANT to teach your kid all this stuff?" Simply to create a love for learning that will last his whole life! Think I'm crazy? I would stop doing it in a minute if Brendan didn't absolutely LOVE it! Oh, yeah, and a good side effect is that I learn a lot in the process, too!

These two tapes have been
invaluable! They are some of Brendan's absolute favorites! Geography songs is published by Audio Memory Publishing and sings all the countries of the world by region (Africa, Southeast Asia, etc.) It's awesome! Their # is 1-800-365-SING. The Presidents tape only has one song on it, but sings all the last names of the presidents in order. It's very catchy! "Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison & Monroe..." You can find it on the "Sing-N-Learn" web site with lots of other good tapes at www.singnlearn.com.

| "Twin Sisters
Productions" also has some very good tapes! Brendan LOVES the States &
Capitals tape, and can sing along to all the state facts! Do you know that Alabama's
state flower is the Camellia, and that it has dark green leaves? Brendan does! He also loves the Physicist & Chemist tapes (these were some of the first ones I bought). Just listening to the words associated with science increases his vocabulary! There are more "science" tapes in the series, too, such as meterology, entomology, astronaut, etc. Check out the Twin Sister's Productions web site at www.twinsisters.com. Awesome, awesome, awesome! |

These are the best math tapes I have found (and believe me, we have plenty)! These tapes are the reason Brendan knows how to add, and probably knows how to multiply, too (I haven't actually tested him on multiplication). The only thing is, you have to buy the whole "kit", which comes with a bunch of stuff. But it is well worth it just for the tapes! His favorite song on these tapes is "Eleven times one makes eleven, ole, ole, ole..." It's very catchy. Once again, it's Sing-N-Learn at www.singnlearn.com. |
I can't possibly put all the rest on here!
