"Computers"

Brendan has recently started taking a computer class at "Be Smart Kids".  They take children as young as 18 months old.  See their website at www.bsklearning.com.

BeSmartKids.jpg (9954 bytes) It is once a week for 1/2 hour, and is a program that teaches children the right way to use the mouse, keyboard, etc.  While they are doing this, the kids are learning about their letters, numbers, colors, etc. and it's all just plain fun!  Brendan loves it!  He asks to go to computer class to see the balloons (a part of the program where they learn keyboard skills to pop the balloons on the screen)!  The staff is excellent, and I think Brendan is learning a lot.

Brendan just got "promoted" to level 2 in math!  His Doman program has taught him well!

Here's some info on Be Smart Kids from our local "Williamson County Parent" newspaper/magazine:

Computers at Home:

We also do lots of things with the computer at home.  Brendan loves looking at the different computer programs we have.  His favorite so far is JumpStart Toddler.  He also enjoys the CD-ROM from the Institutes that has flashcards on it of various things.  But what he asks for the most is to see "Bob & Larry" from Veggie Tales on their web site.  He also loves the Sesame Street web site with Elmo on it.  We print pictures from the sites and he goes to the printer to get them.  What fun for a 2 year old!
